Elle Hanley is an american fine art photographer currently living and working in Seattle. Her work is alluring and unexpected, focusing mainly on capturing beauty and emotion in a still shot of time.
She began working in photography four years ago as an artistic outlet and it grew into a full-fledged devotion. She was drawn in particular to self-portraiture for the control it gave over the image outcome and initially emerged as a self-portrait artist. Elle enjoys the challenges in creating something classic and timeless from a thoroughly modern process and the contradiction between the two is a strong theme throughout her work.
One of her largest accomplishments is the completion of a long duration art project – 365 days she worked on throughout 2011. A photo a day, for an entire year. Currently she is mixing the realms of art and fashion, working to expand her current open series, and still shooting an occasional self-portrait. Always working on several projects and bringing new and intriguing characters to life to photograph. You may find her scouting locations on the outskirts of the city with her camera and her dog, actively looking for her next big inspiration.
