Sometimes, it’s more difficult not to return to a prison than to actual stay out of it.

Did you know that Social Investment can be a way of helping ex-convicts return to and reestablish themselves in society? These people, after so many years of confinement, often feel disconnected, and lacking in emotional support when reintroduced to general society. It is an unfortunate truth that many of these people end up returning to their old ways, committing crimes and, very likely, returning to prison. However, there’s always a way out. Learn more about what Jane Newman has been developing with these ex-convicts.

Jane Newman is International Director at Social Finance, “a not for profit organization that partners with the government, the social sector and the financial community to find better ways of tackling social problems in the UK and beyond.” Since it started in 2007, Social Finance has raised over £22 million of social investment, according to its website. If you want to know more about Jane Newman click here.
